	Stanley MaxSteel 83-069 Multi-Angle Vise (Tools & Home Improvement) I have been looking for a small vice to keep on my tech desk for small repairs. I often need an extra pair of hands and this fits the bill. I bought it because it was cast aluminum and just the right size. Many similar small vises are poorly made and don’t hold well. This vise stays put when you tighten down to your work area, yet is easy to remove and store when not needed. This unit has plastic jaw inserts and they hold extremely well. It is not intended for heavy duty use, so don’t expect to clamp down a muffler and try to break a rusted 1/2′ bolt. For those needs I have a 5 inch bench vise I can bend and beat on! At first the screw mechanism felt a little tight, but it has loosen nicely. I have made two wooden jaw inserts (just ‘L’ shapes out of hardwood) for when I need to solder items — easy to make and perform perfectly. The multi-angle adjustment works well and is very handy. All in all this is a great little vise and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light duty vise they can adjust to any angle. Great design.

I use it to replace graphite golf shafts and the rubber clamp protector fits and works perfect. The mouth is smooth, and I do get a little slip from it though. Also, the screw clamp isn’t big enough to clamp to my work bench. Otherwise, this is a good vise.

	Black & Decker CS1030L 13 Amp 7-1/4-Inch Laser Circular Saw with Soft Grip s (Tools & Home Improvement) I researched quite a few models in this price range, including cordless. Settled on the 7in blade, as I only need it for home handyman projects. Have loved this thing. No mechanical or electrical issues after a year – i probably use this a couple times a month. Laser was actually useful to cut a long 6 ft shelf for a closet project: click the laser on, and it will lay on your pencil line to keep the saw line straight. Powerful enough for normal 2X4 studs, light enough to handle safely.

	Jorgensen 1652 Hold Down Clamp (Tools & Home Improvement) The Jorgensen web site adjustableclamp.com is selling two of these for $6.99 plus shipping. Amazon wants $19.90 for one with free shipping. I don’t think it will cost $33 to ship from Jorgensen.I have a very difficult time getting these to clamp down tight. Constantly adjusting the screw nut underneath my workbench. I have only used these one time, and finally gave up. It may be me!
